FULL NAME: Sophie Helen Rhys-Jones
BIRTHDATE: January 20, 1965
BORN: at the Nuffield Maternity Home in Oxford
Shortly after she was born she moved with her family to Brenchley and lived in a 17th Century thatched farmhouse. This is where Sophie grew up. Sophie attended the Dulwich College Preparatory School in nearby Cranbrook. After Preparatory School Sophie went to Kent College for Girls at Pembury.
Sophie left school at 16 and enrolled in a two year secretarial course at the West Kent College of Further Education in Tonbridge.
She kept her job as a PR representative until recently.
On Saturday, 19 June 1999, HRH Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones were married at 5pm at St. George's Chapel, Windsor. Following the wedding there was a reception at Windsor Castle.
The Wedding Service was conducted by the Right Reverend Peter Nott, Bishop of Norwich.
